Paying for accommodation is easy – you can pay by bank transfer or by phoning with your credit card details. The booking portal will be enhanced during 2023 to include options for paying with a card and with phone apps.
For international students wanting to pay in instalments, you will need to have a UK-based guarantor (usually a family member). If this is not possible our partner guarantor company is Housing Hand, who will provide this service at a reasonable cost – please contact them for more information. https://housinghand.co.uk/
When you choose one of our studios, you can also choose a moving in slot and you can arrive at any time during this window. This means you can decide what time you want to move in and we will have your room ready for you.
The kitchenette includes the following appliances: an electric 2-ring cooking hob, a combi microwave, fridge/freezer (one freezer compartment) sink unit, wall unit with extractor fan, kitchen waste bins along with a dustpan & brush.

If you no longer require the room, provided you let us know in writing (by email) 14 days or more before the rental period is due to start, you will get a full refund. If you let us know within 14 days you will be refunded your instalment but we may retain your deposit. If you decide to cancel your room booking after the start of the contract you will be liable for the rent until a replacement student is found to occupy your room.
There are two accessible studios available, both priced at the lower rent level (Premium rate). These are fully configured for wheelchair use.
Yes, we provide a combined pack for the low price of £50.00. Please request one during the booking process and it will be ready for you when you move in. The pack contains the following items:

A Leicester student has plenty to take advantage of, from the vibrant nightlife to the Cultural Quarter with its theatres and music venues. Leicester is a thriving student city, where you can watch epic sports games, feast at delicious eateries, or chill down by the river. With 66,000 students, you will be in good company.
The studios are fully equipped, so you will just need a duvet and bed linen, towels, kitchen utensils and a few plates, mugs and pans. To make things easier for when you move in, we will provide optional bedding/towel packs and kitchen packs. These can be ordered when reserving your room and will be placed there for your arrival. Prices will be displayed on the booking portal.
The rent is payable in September, January, and April. The management will confirm the amounts and deadline dates with you and send a reminder by email two to three weeks before the payment is due.
The laundry is located on the 5th floor. It is operated by Circuit Laundry and is a cashless system. You can use a phone app to add credit, or top up with a laundry card provided by reception.
The prices for 2022-23 are £3.40 per wash and £1.90 per 50-minute drying cycle, and £3.50 wash / £2.00 dry for 2023-24.
You can have one guest staying for a maximum of two consecutive nights in one week.

The rental period for the academic year 2024-2025 is Saturday 14th September 2024 to 12pm on Saturday 6th September 2025.
It’s usually not possible for you to occupy your room before the start of the official rental period because the rooms will be in the process of being cleaned and maintained. However, if you need to move in early, it’s worth asking as special arrangements can sometimes be made.

We strongly urge you to book your room as quickly as possible once you have received your offer email. This will maximise your chances of getting the type of room you want. Places at St George’s Tower are restricted to 119 people and are in great demand.
When you receive your offer email there will be a deadline date by which time you must make your booking or decline the offer. If you do not book you will have to reapply to SGT if you later change your mind.
You will be required to book your room with a deposit of £300. The deposit is not part of the rent and will be returned in full at the end of the tenancy, assuming that there are no damages to the room. Your first rent instalment is due in September and must be paid before you move in. This is 40% of the annual rent and you can pay this by bank transfer, or by phoning reception to pay by credit or debit card.
The remainder of the rent is payable in January (40%) and April (20%). If it’s easier, you can pay for the entire tenancy in advance. If you have any questions regarding payment, please let us know via the website ‘contact us’ page.
Bicycles may be stored at no charge in the designated bike store.
For reasons of practicality and animal welfare, residents are not allowed to keep pets at St George’s Tower.
